With Covid 19, maybe church in America will return to what Jesus truly said. Interesting that Dietrich Bonhoeffer spoke of “cheap grace” teachings to come.

Comment on Turning to God by Marilyn Reep https://hopechurchcolorado.com/turning-to-god/#comment-121 Fri, 03 Jan 2020 05:56:00 +0000 https://hopechurchcolorado.com/?p=2148#comment-121 I’m reading this after Christmas, and even in focusing on the nativity, I feel I don’t always turn to God. My moments are too brief, I get bogged down in the details of living. I want to rely on God, be in tune with His desires for my life, but I’m always left looking at the darkened glass, not seeing anything clearly.

Comment on Repent? by Marilyn https://hopechurchcolorado.com/repent/#comment-120 Sat, 16 Nov 2019 05:49:30 +0000 https://hopechurchcolorado.com/?p=2138#comment-120 It’s hard in the midst of raising children(or grandchildren), not to get bogged down in earthly goals (helping them read, what should they study, how to encourage them to learn, should they go to college, etc) and it is so easy to lose the eternal perspective. I would love to hear how others have worked on putting it into practice. How to make Colossians 3:1-2 (“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things”) real in your day to day living.
